Stachowski’s Market is a recently opened meat market (butcher shop) in Georgetown. It is located in what used to be Griffon’s Market.

Each day it offers a couple of prepared meals. For example on Friday, August 10th , it offered butcher shop cacciatore over penne rigate and Pollo alla Milanese with a summer vegetable medley. Pre-ordered meals can be ready from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. They should be reserved by telephone.

Stachowski’s also offers a variety of other fresh and prepared meat products. These include sandwiches, sausages like Smoked Kielbasa, and charcuterie like Pheasant Pate.

In our first order from Stachowski’s, Debbie ordered a sandwich called a 4 Meat rinder (Salami,Coppa, Mortadella, and Soopressata). It is a very large sandwich, which could easily feed two, if not three people.

I ordered smoked trout. Instead of the usual piece of a larger smoked trout, Stachowski’s offers a very small whole smoked trout that has been deboned. The meat from the whole trout was about 5 ounces.

They also offer some excellent pre-packaged cookies.

We fully enjoyed all of these items. We also bought home coleslaw and potato salad. These did not live up to the standard of the other items.

The one down side is that there is rarely parking available. We did manage to find a place to pull over and, while I stayed in the car, Debbie went inside. When she had decided what she wanted she returned to the car and I went in.

I think you will find it useful to check out the store’s website to get the “full flavor” of its offerings.

Open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-8pm, Sunday 11am-6pm, closed Mondays.
