The public’s grading of President Obama’s job approval, as found by Gallup on 10/23/16, is 57% approval/ 40% disapproval. A year ago it was 43% approval/51% disapproval. Six months ago it was 48% approval /48% disapproval. [Gallup]

Obama has an approval/disapproval rating on the economy of 47% to 47% and an approval/disapproval rating on foreign policy of 42% to 46%. [Economist/ YouGov, 10/8]

Peter Hart makes the point that Dwight Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton did little to help the person who was trying to succeed them. Obama is turning heaven and earth in support of Hillary Clinton.

He also makes the case that Barack Obama has had the best 7th and 8th years of any president in his lifetime.
